Renault Kangoo with a Nissan badge- Nissan Electric Car
October 4, 2021There’s some exciting news in the world of van life: you can now buy a Renault Kangoo with a Nissan badge on the front. Welcome to the all-new (sort of) Nissan Town star. Great moniker.
The Town star is only available in the Kangoo’s most minor configuration. Nissan has chosen only two powertrain options – 1.3-liter petrol with 128bhp and an all-electric model with a 44kWh battery and a battery 118bhp motor. According to Nissan, this vehicle can travel 177 miles on a single charge.

This represents a 43% increase in range over the current e-NV200, which Nissan will phase out when the Town star sells.
The Town star will also receive significantly more technology than thee-NV200, including a slew of active safety and driver assistance features, as well as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and wireless phone charging. It will also have an ‘Around View Monitor system, which distinguishes it from the Kangoo by displaying a 360-degree view of the area around the van.
The Ariya inspires its design, and Nissan promises “passenger-car-like comfort” – doesn’t everyone introduce a new van? This is built on the Alliance’s CMF-C platform, which also underpins the excellent new Nissan Qashqai.
Essential details: the back compartment has 4.3 cubic meters of space and can transport two Euro pallets and up to 800kg of cargo. There is also a towing capacity of 1,500kg.
